The Epic
Hiking Escape on
Corvo Island

Explore the Azores’ smallest and most remote island.
This itinerary includes the legendary Caldeirão hike and time to discover the unique culture of Vila do Corvo.

Getting There & Away

Corvo is accessible by boat and plane, and visitors often combine the two — for example, arriving by sea and departing by air. If possible, arrive by speedboat from Flores. Such tours pass oceanic waterfalls and sea grottoes before heading into open water, where you have a chance to spot dolphins or whales. This crossing is an adventure itself!

Note: All transport is weather-dependent. While the Atlanticoline ferry operates in summer and the airport connects to Flores, Faial, and Terceira, cancellations due to high winds are common. Always have a flexible backup plan.

Scheduling & Visibility

This itinerary is organized by activity rather than a fixed sequence. Since the full Caldeirão Hike requires 7–9 hours, check the forecast upon arrival and save the trek for the day with the clearest weather.

Essential Tips
Supplies: Shops and restaurants are limited on the island. If you are camping, we recommend bringing some food supplies from Flores — this is especially important if your visit falls on a Sunday.
Cash: While some places accept cards, carry enough cash for taxis, small cafes, and your boat transfer to avoid any issues.
